Animazones, an Afro VFX initiative

Why this initiative ?

Animazone’s mission is to contribute to promoting and developing the place of women in the animation and VFX industries, in Africa and around the world.

By involving its network and carrying out activities as varied as workshops, conferences or creative competitions, Animazones is designed to develop the number of women and girls talents in this vastly growing industry.

ANIMAZONES

A 4-PART PROGRAM

RAISING AWARENESS IN SCHOOLS

Access to information on careers in VFX and 3D Animation and the opportunity to meet inspiring professionals remains a privilege. In addition, digital creativity is uncommon in different education systems on the African continent. It is therefore essential to intervene in the school environment in order to promote appropriation of the field, as early as possible in schooling.

ACCESS TO AFRO VFX

As part of its free training program in VFX and 3D Animation, AfroVFX promotes parity in its cohorts, but the presence of young women remains in the minority within the Industry. The ANIMAZONES initiative is therefore a privileged gateway to the program AfroVFX for participants meeting recruitment criteria.

ONLINE MENTORING

Interacting with a mentor is a fantastic opportunity to learn, develop and expand your network. Drawing on the Afro VFX network, the ANIMAZONES online mentoring program is a unique opportunity to be in contact with talented professionals, particularly from the biggest studios.

WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES, MASTERCLASSES AND CREATIVE COMPETITIONS

ANIMAZONES offers a series of activities aimed at providing opportunities to young African women. Unlike mentoring which is an individual program, the activities are open to the general public wishing to better understand this sector and integrate it
